About the role

The Peer Practitioner will work with customers to define their own outcomes whilst providing individual and shared support within a residential setting. The role supports customers to achieve their recovery goals through one-to-one support, facilitating peer learning workshops and assistance with daily tasks in a shared living arrangement. The role also plays an integral role in developing individual programs; plans that outline goals, aspirations and desires working towards recovery and independent living.

Duties

  • Utilise your own lived experience of mental ill health and recovery to inform your work and the work of the team
  • Support the team to understand and deliver services that are consistent with recovery orientated practice
  • Work with customers to achieve their goals as set out within their recovery plan
  • Available for sleepover shifts

What you’ll bring

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in a recovery oriented framework.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to engage in reflective practice.
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
