Community Mental Health Practitioner - Albert Park

We have been supporting people dealing with the day-to-day impacts of mental illness, as well as their families, friends and carers for over 40 years. As a Mental Health Practitioner you will provide information, advice, support and mentoring to families and carers to assist them to access services relevant to their health and social needs. The role requires experience in supporting family and carers to understand plans and access to NDIS and prepare for NDIS reviews.

You will be involved in a range of services that Mind provides to family and carers, which will include some overnight stays at our Recovery Retreats.

Skills & experience

  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health related field
  • Work within a recovery oriented framework to support individuals, families and carers
  • Develop strength based assessments with clients
  • Facilitate the re-engagement and maintenance of family and carer relationships
  • Develop daily living skills and capacity for self-care
