About the Role

As the Residential House Supervisor, you will be instrumental in the coordination of day to day care, nurture and development of the children and young people in accordance with their case management and individual care plans. The position will be responsible for providing thorough leadership, support and supervision to a dedicated team of Residential Care Workers, as well as participating in team planning, review and development in collaboration with the Coordinator, Case Managers and other Residential Service staff.

Reporting to the Residential Coordinator, this is a permanent full-time position and will be situated within the Eastern division of Out of Home Care (OOHC).

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and support a therapeutic environment within the home
• Actively participate in team planning, review and development
• Lead the house through co-operation and collaboration, whilst resolving conflict in a timely, thoughtful manner
• Positively contribute to the development of MacKillop Family Services
• Supervise the day to day running in respect to good care of the children, household duties, property and grounds maintenance and staff deployment

About you:

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Cert IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or other similar or relevant tertiary qualifications.

• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the residential care field

• Proven skills and experience in development of behavioural management programs for children and adolescents with challenging behaviour.

• A well-developed understanding of trauma, damaged attachment and childhood development needs
• Abilities in leading, supervising and supporting staff
