The Minister for Resources is seeking nominations from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill four positions on the Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority Board. The terms of appointment for members are due to commence on 30 June 2020.
The Victorian Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority board is established under Section 84AG of the Victorian Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990. In accordance with the Act, the Board is responsible for the governance, general policies and strategic direction of the Authority.
All applications will be assessed against the relevant areas. A selection panel will shortlist applicants and conduct interviews.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo probity checks, including a national police check. They will also be required to declare any private interests and awareness of any potential conflicts of interest. Recommendations of suitable candidates will be provided to the Minister for Resources for consideration. All appointments are made by the Governor in Council.
