Executive Assistant to the CEO

THE ROLE

The Executive Assistant position is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and project support to the CEO to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation. This role will also provide administrative support to the Board of Directors.

You will be part of a developing, fast-paced and diverse workplace that is committed to providing essential practical support to people seeking asylum and living in NSW.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing the CEO's diary and travel arrangements, planning and coordinating meetings, conference calls and similar activities, preparation of agenda and reports for Board meetings, assisting with creating presentations, drafting correspondence and ad hoc project based work.

This is a full-time continuing position. Generous salary packaging available.

SELECTION CRITERIA

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you can demonstrate in your application:

  • Minimum 5 years administration experience
  • Proven experience in writing letters and producing reports to a high standard
  • Excellent attention to detail with an exceptional level of professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and operate independently or work as part of a team, as tasks require
  • Intermediate level of proficiency using a wide range of IT applications; email, electronic calendars, electronic filing systems, databases, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, or the Google Docs equivalents)
  • Availability to occasionally work outside of core hours when required (e.g. evening Board meetings, events)
  • An interest and commitment to working with people seeking asylum

DESIRABLE

  • NSW Driver’s License
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, administration or equivalent
  • Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant experience
  • Project Management experience

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

The Asylum Seekers Centre provides practical and personal support for people seeking asylum living in the community. Our services include casework, accommodation, financial relief, health care and counselling, employment assistance, education, advocacy, food and recreational activities.
